'Every Child Deserves a Shot'

Broxbourne Tennis Academy Community Foundation is a new scheme set up to open its doors to underprivileged children within our community offering FREE tennis lessons to those who want to be a part of this amazing sport.

Who Will Benefit?

The children who will benefit from this scheme will be children who are from underprivileged families who want to be part of a sporting community.

We aim to partner up with local organisations and P.E teachers from local primary schools in the first instance and based on the knowledge of their families/pupils and will select children who have shown an interest in sport/tennis.

What Happens Next?

We will email the children put forward by their P.E teachers inviting them to Broxbourne Tennis Academy for a taster session, providing them with a list of Development Groups which they can pick at a time that suits them. They will have access to ANY GROUP at ANY TIME, and should they wish to pursue their tennis, will have club membership paid for as well as every opportunity accessible to any child at our tennis club. Broxbourne Tennis Academy Foundation will also provide these children with a start-up goody bag consisting of a tennis racket, balls and water bottle and they will be welcomed into our club to meet new people and learn an ever growing sport.

Where Will This Take Place?

This scheme will be taking place at Broxbourne Tennis Academy within Broxbourne Sports Club, Mill Lane Close, Broxbourne, Herts, EN10 7BA.

When and For How Long?

Parents will have a list of sessions to choose from and can book a place at a time that suits them. The children who are selected for this programme will be offered FREE tennis for as long as they wish!

Why Are We Setting This Up?

We feel the children of our community who have an interest in sport should be given the same opportunity as the more fortunate families to play and enjoy tennis.

Tennis has so many benefits to all walks of life, from mental to physical to even emotional benefits. We would like to change the mindset of tennis from it being a “rich persons” sport to “every child deserve a shot” sport. So many children are struggling with health and social issues and tennis has be proved to help with many of these disadvantages. Opening our doors will change so many young lives. It will teach them life skills for the future. Rules, Teamwork, Communication, Discipline, Achievement, improving confidence and self-esteem but more importantly it will teach our children that it’s ok to lose but it’s not ok to quit!

If you feel like you have children in mind who will benefit from our scheme, we would love to hear from you.

If you would like to discuss clubs within your school in addition to this scheme we really do think it will benefit for future child allocations.

This programme is totally free of charge, all we ask from you is to tell your friends, families and colleagues all about what we are trying to achieve and how you feel about what we are doing and you can do this by leaving a review on our social networking page. We also have a JustGiving page which helps us fund the goody bags for our children, day trips, annual memberships and more exciting events.

The foundation is run solely by volunteers, donations and our own fundraising efforts, so any donations, sponsorships or help would be greatly appreciated.
